COVID SAFE PLAN

Due to the nature of COVID–19 and the risks it presents, our response will change to ensure consistency with current COVID regulations. Use of the Venue will be structured in response to both the current restrictions imposed by Government agencies together with the School’s own determinations as to how to operate its facilities safely for students, staff and others.

Site Access

Access to the school site is only permitted via GATE A and within these times:

Monday to Friday: 6:00pm – 12:00 midnight
Saturday: 7:00am – 12:00 midnight
Sunday: 7:00am – 12:00 midnight

Please note, that this is access to the school site, not the Performing Arts Centre. Customers accessing the School site outside of these times will be asked to leave. This is to allow an appropriate amount of time for various site users to remain clear of each other.

Responsibilities of the Venue

George Wood Performing Arts Centre must provide a safe environment for all its users. In its commitment to do this it will:

  • Immediately cease the hiring of the Venue on confirmation of a case of COVID-19 within all school facilities.
  • Staff the venue with a designated COVID-Coordinator, who will be the onsite contact person to provide assistance and supervision to ensure all aspects of the COVID Safe Plan are understood and attended to in a safe and intentional manner.
  • Give clear information as to the spaces and thoroughfares available to be accessed, the capacities permitted in those spaces and the appropriate use of those spaces.
  • Provide appropriate safety and capacity signage and sanitising equipment in all used areas and at all entries and exits.
  • Provide appropriate signage in relation to COVID-19 practices throughout the venue.
  • Ensure that there are suitable breaks between each clients use.
  • Ensure that the venue has been cleaned and sanitised thoroughly prior to each clients use.
  • Communicate any changes that may occur in as timely a manner as is possible and assist with any changes as is appropriate.
  • Any person who is determined to be exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to immediately leave the venue.
  • The Venue may be required to stop the event and close the venue immediately.
